Business Strategy

There are three elements in the company’s business development strategy. First, Vestaron is developing three insecticidal spider peptides. Vestaron will sell these products directly in selected agricultural markets.  The first of these products was successfully evaluated in field trials in 2009.  The company anticipates initial product sales in 2012.

Second, Vestaron will partner with major insecticide manufacturers for agronomic crop applications, such as corn, soybeans and wheat. These corporate partnerships will include up-front licensing fees, cooperative research and development and royalties on sales.  The company will also license for international sales, with the possible exception of Mexico where it will sell directly.  Currently, Vestaron is seeking corporate partnerships to develop plants incorporating the company's insecticidal spider peptides.

Finally, Vestaron is also partnering with companies to develop small, synthetic mimics of the pharmacophore (activity site) of the three proprietary Vestaron peptides.
