Anna Rath President & CEO and Director
Anna joined Vestaron as President & CEO and as Board member in April 2018, bringing more than a decade of experience across multiple venture-backed ag-tech companies. Before that, Anna founded and led as CEO the company NexSteppe to develop and commercialize optimized crops for the biobased economy. Previously, Anna led Commercial and Business Development at Ceres, an agricultural biotechnology company and developer of dedicated energy crops. Anna started her professional career at McKinsey & Co., holds a master’s degree in genetics from the University of Michigan, received her J.D. from Yale Law School, and attended leadership programs at Harvard Business School and Yale School of Management. She currently sits on the board of directors for the Biotech Industry Organization and was the 2016 recipient of the Rosalind Franklin award for female leadership in industrial biotechnology.
Robert M. Kennedy Chief Scientific Officer
Bob has led Vestaron’s R&D activities since 2009. Bob also sits on the IRAC mode of action committee. He has over 25 years of research management experience and has held management positions at Parke-Davis and Pfizer with academic appointments at Columbia University, University of Michigan and Western Michigan Medical School. Bob holds a PhD in organic chemistry from Virginia Tech, followed by an NIH Postdoctoral fellowship at MIT.
Ash Patel Chief Operating Officer
Ash Patel joins Vestaron in June of 2019 from DOVA Pharmaceuticals. As an accomplished operations director with more than 23 years of experience leading manufacturing, engineering, capital projects, supply chain, and IT/automation systems, Ash will lead the organization as COO. Ash holds a B.Eng from the University of Sunderland and a Masters of Business Administration from the Copenhagen Business School. His background includes global manufacturing and supply chain management experience in multi-national biotech companies and a strong focus on value creation.
Jessica Vanhoy Chief Financial Officer
Jessica Vanhoy joined the company as Chief Financial Officer in April of 2019. Most recently Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for Dova Pharmaceuticals, Jessica has 20 years’ experience in accounting and finance, fostering teamwork through adversity. She holds a BSBA in Accounting from Appalachian State University, an MBA from Campbell University, and is a certified public accountant in the state of North Carolina.
Ben Cicora SVP Sales & Marketing
Ben became a senior VP with Vestaron in 2018 bringing 18 years experience in crop protection sales, marketing and leadership. Ben’s education, including a MBA from the University of North Carolina and BS in Agricultural Business from The Ohio State University, coupled with his previous management positions at Dow, Bayer, Agrium and NutriAg have prepared him for the charge of growing and developing a diverse and effective sales and marketing team.
Andy Renz VP of Business Development
Andy joined Vestaron in January 2017 and brings over 20 years of industry experience in agricultural innovation and business development. Andy held management positions at BASF, was Vice President of Business Development at Benson Hill Biosystems, and is on the industry advisory board of ag tech start-up’s, incubators and ag innovation conferences. He has a strong network in agricultural solutions and is an expert in international negotiations. Andy studied biology and received a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Bayreuth, Germany.
